Forest Contractors Ltd. seeks to understand and address the client’s concern, whether it is aesthetic, structural, preventative, functional, or a combination of these. We specialize in addressing common structure problems. These problems include leaks, cracking or spalling of concrete or masonry, bulging or unstable appearance of walls, unsightly stains or grime on building surfaces, deterioration or rusting of building components, and the liability associated with these concerns. We continue to stringently follow Engineering Guidelines to protect our client’s investment.

Concrete Repair

Proper repair of spalls includes precise surface preparation, inspection and replacement of reinforcing steel where necessary, use corrosion inhibiting bonding agents, placement of high early strength polymer modified repair mortars and proper curing. We are experienced in shoring techniques to ensure the stability of your structure during repair and are certified applicators of several products included. Whether the application is for hand lay-up, form and pour, form and pump, shotcrete and a combination of methods, our clients have seen the benefits of these guidelines for long-term results.

Crack Repair

Cracks in concrete exposed to moisture should be repaired as quickly as possible to avoid extensive and costly damage. Routing and sealing is the most common method of crack repair. For this procedure, the crack is enlarged to permit the complete penetration of the repair compound. This type of method is most effective when a structural epoxy is gravity fed into the crack to return the slab to its original monolithic state, with all structural properties unaltered. When this type of cracking is caused by improper joint placement, therefore new joints should be cut and sealed to ensure a long-term repair.

Waterproofing

Buildings and other structures need a layer of protection from certain elements in their environment to prevent significant aesthetic and structural impact. Exterior surfaces are exposed to both natural and man-made hazards including environmental damage freeze/thaw disintegration of substrate, even when concrete deteriorates caused by water absorption; rusted rebar from penetrating salts and acidic atmospheric gases, and general deterioration form chemical attacks. Fortunately, properly applied synthetic polymer and elastomeric waterproof coatings provide layers of protection on a variety of exterior substrates including above-grade masonry, stucco, concrete block, poured and pre-cast concrete, Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS), brick, wood and metal.

Masonry Restoration and Construction

Our trademarks are business formality, rigorous craftsmanship and unfailing professionalism. You can depend on our diligent quality control in the execution of the following masonry restoration, masonry construction and related operations.

Epoxy Injection

Epoxy injection is permanent repair that is both a structural repair and a structural prevention procedure. The epoxy injection process not only fills cracks, but welds them together structurally with an epoxy material that is forced through cracks under pressure forming a bond that is stronger than the concrete itself. Quality of workmanship in epoxy injection is critical, since no one can see if a crack is completely injected. Critical job site issues to take into considerations include a proper surface preparation, method of capping and porting, injection material, method and pressure selection, and results confirmation.
