As this is the low area of any asphalt surface, regular maintenance is required in order to maintain water flow off hard surfaces. Precast rings will adjust grade heights and replace brick and mortar that have deteriorated due to erosion.

A sign of deterioration is cracked and/or webbed asphalt at the surface of catch basins.
